FLUOPLAST Topcoat is a powder that builds up a coating with outstanding chemical resistance. It is based on the thermoplastic polymer Polyvinylidenedifluoride (PVDF). FLUOPLAST Topcoat is applied as a finishing coat on Fluoplast Primer III.
FLUOPLAST Topcoat is applied with classic electrostatic spraying equipment. In spraying successive layers of 100 to 250 microns, a total layer thickness of
± 800 microns is achieved. The melting and flow-out of the powder for each applied layer occurs by residual heat of the preheated parts and an additional residence time in the oven will perform total fusion. The preheating and further oven cycle occur in an appropriated oven at a temperature between 250 and 270 °C.
The adhesion of the coating on steel and stainless steel substrates, previously coated with Fluoplast primer, is extremely good. The topcoat has a chemical resistance similar to that of PVDF.
