ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Powder Coatings
ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) coatings are specifically designed to meet requirements where sensitive electronic equipment must be protected from electrostatic discharge due to static build-up. The coating acts as a protective film that will dissipate static charge occurring onto the surface, in doing so valuable electronic components are kept safe in use or in storage. The substrate must be conductive and equipped with a proper ground.
To be applied with electrostatic powder spray equipment. Protech-Oxyplast ESD powder coatings are suitable for applications such as work benches and work surfaces, shelving and storage organisers, electronic enclosures, computer work stations and more.
From conductive to insulating powder coatings, Protech-Oxyplast offers a variety of applications. Using the proper application method, virtually any configuration can be uniformly coated, ensuring a conductive or insulating barrier.
Insulating powder coatings balance the electric power surges, for example in cable insulation. An extra advantage is the cost and process time reduction, as the need for lamination fixtures can be cancelled.
Powder coating is an effective means to apply a protective layer on numerous shapes and sizes. Next to the advantages of being economical & consistent in application, powder coating in its various aspects can serve to solve very specific problems, for example in the electrical field. Common applications include motor components, switchgear, cable replacement….
Protech-Oxyplast coatings can protect electronic and electrical components and systems in environments where they need to be handled or operated safely. the coatings also insulate these components when they are in close proximity, to prevent them from interacting with each other.
